Winter 2025 A-List Wine Club Newsletter
Our Estate Team discusses the A-List new releases, and what makes them so unique.
Estate Update
The arrival of January signals an important time in the vineyard and winery alike. With the vines in dormancy and the cellar humming with activity, we’ve turned our focus to blending and preparing for the year ahead. We’re excited to begin 2025 with an exceptional lineup of wines from our 2023 vintage that reflect the unique challenges and rewards of the growing season. This club release highlights some great releases, and we can’t wait for you to experience them.
The 2023 growing season was as dramatic as it was rewarding. A cold, wet spring brought one of our latest budbursts on record, but our resilient vines caught up during an uncharacteristically dry June and a warm, classic Willamette Valley summer. By harvest, we were celebrating record-breaking tonnages of perfectly ripe Pinot Noir and racy, low-alcohol Chardonnay. Winemaking is rarely without its challenges, and 2023 was no exception, with equipment quirks and electrical outages testing our ingenuity. Adding to the bustle of the year, we were also hard at work renovating our tasting house to create an even more welcoming space for your visits. Yet, the payoff was worth every effort. The wines from this vintage showcase complexity, vibrancy, and a clear sense of place—qualities we know you’ll savor in your glass.
This club release features the 2023 Renegade Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir, a wine that perfectly captures the complexity of its namesake vineyard. With bold notes of black cherry, marionberry, and cedar, layered with hints of spring forest floor, this wine is rich and inviting. Its fine tannins and fresh acidity make it approachable now, yet it will age well over the next 3 to 5 years. Alongside the Renegade, we’re featuring the 2023 Archer’s Edge Vineyard. Located at the estate’s entrance, Archer’s Edge balances youthful freshness with sophistication. With a deep purple hue, it offers aromas of raspberry, black pepper, and wood, followed by concentrated fruit, pepper, and robust tannins on the palate. A finish of blood orange zest enhances its power and complexity, making it ideal for aging up to 10 years.
We’re also thrilled to offer the inaugural release of our 2023 Renegade Ridge Vineyard Chardonnay. This Chardonnay showcases the individuality of its site, with flavors of Meyer lemon, ripe pear, and toasted hazelnuts accented by a lively acidity. Crafted in limited quantities, it’s a new milestone for Archery Summit, and it’s available to add onto your club release.
As we look ahead to 2025, we’re filled with excitement for what’s to come. From intimate tastings in our Tasting House to unforgettable events that celebrate the best of the Willamette Valley, this year promises to be one of connection and inspiration. Be sure to visit our events page and save the dates for the experiences we’ve planned.
