Winemaking Update & A-List Membership Enhancements
Ian Burch, Winemaker
Spring has sprung, or at least it’s trying. And we’re all for it, as this winter has taken its sweet, sweet time. But in those relatively gloomy days, there’s plenty of time to check in on the wines and reflect on what’s next.
Frankly, I still pinch myself when I show up to work. Making wine is one thing (and a great thing), but doing it in the Willamette Valley in a subterranean cave is quite another. My office is unusual and I will never take that for granted. And in that vein of special places that offer a one-of-a-kind experience, we have some great news to share: Archery Summit is hard at work on a new tasting space and to celebrate, we’re increasing your club benefits!
We’re setting things up so you and your friends can enjoy our wines on an even deeper level. That means more limited releases, exclusive savings, and luxury winery events that take full advantage of our unique setting set right in the heart of the Dundee Hills.
But I did mention a new tasting space. Renovation has begun, with a new estate expansion set to open up this fall. We love our setup but we also know it can serve you even better. This project is the culmination of conversation after conversation about reissuing that special spark —that sensation that makes me pinch myself every time I step into the building to pour some estate wines for friends.
The new space is well on its way towards offering that. The tasting area is an homage to our surroundings and will offer year-round views of the stunning valley folds we get to call home. Wine is great, but we all know it tastes better in the company of evergreen forests, towering mountain peaks, and circling Red-tailed hawks.
We’ll keep offering exceptional wines and experiences during the renovation, rest assured – Book your next experience today! About the only thing that’s changing is the nature of the building, which is on the verge of being even more versatile, with a greater capacity than ever for unbelievable events and tasting experiences. We’ll keep you updated on the construction and encourage you to pop in while it’s unfolding to have a look yourself.
As a winemaker, my ultimate goal is to make wines that have a sense of place and tell a genuine story. Enjoying the wine from the very place it comes together is very much part of that terroir journey and this soon-to-be space will only help us tell the great narrative that is the Dundee Hills. I’m lucky enough to get close to the wines every day at the winery. Soon, you’ll be able to do the same, sitting with your friends beside the vines during an immersive flight. To be able to share that is incredible.
As I write this, we are mere hours away from finishing the bottling of our 2021 wines and can’t wait to share them with you. I can’t thank you enough for supporting our mission and allowing us to make wines that not only reflect this special corner of the wine map but bring a little joy en route.
Here’s to future gatherings, new releases, and new beginnings.
